sometimes when you are feeling down you can find inspiration within yourself, that i like to think comes from God. you all know that we are having difficulties right now, yadda yadda yadda, i am tired of saying as i am sure you are tired of reading it. but yesterday while i was feeling somewhat depressed a thought came to me, that instead of feeling beaten and tired, how about just ride this storm out and "grow through it".
i pulled out my trusty paints yesterday and began to express myself through art. nothing relieves frustrations and anxiety faster than diving into what you love and diving into life.
as i keep my hands busy so calms the mind. the two and two go together, it is a healing process.
as most of you know i love designing graphics and most of you have seen this particular graphic, especially if you purchased the towel it's on. you can also receive this graphic in my graphic packthat is for sale in the etsy shop. this is just one of many things you can do with a graphic, using it as a transfer for an art project.
and presto things are starting to come together on paper and in my soul. i invisioned growing past this forest of trees i see in front of me, blinding my path. so the key here is to grow bigger than your blinding forest so you can see over the top of them instead of seeing through them.
i am in love with birds right now, and they are really quite easy to draw, and paint. if you are just starting out with drawing or painting, my suggestion is to start with birds. i found a book of birds at a yard sale and it has come in handy for using as a reference. and also if you are into collage/mixed media you can copy and scan then for your artwork, just cut them out and display the images in your piece. i have done that, but i prefer free hand.
i want to express my deepest gratitude for all of the support i am receiving with wonderful emails and displays of encouragement i get from each of you. you have given me that foot hold, boost up to see over the forest.
i encourage you to find ways to express yourself, and use art as an outlet for letting out toxins in your body that can come out through creating. when you are observing art really look at the piece you are drawn to. ask yourself what is it saying to you and although you may not be an artist yourself, just looking at the art piece that speaks to you, can also give you that grow through it feeling too.
i am selling the original here. prints will be available also.
thank you for hanging in here with me!
