It's still early July and really only feels like summer has just arrived. June seemed to be more like March or one of the fall months...but good old July has kicked into high gear here and we are having 100+ weather. I'm not so much for that hot of temps, so those are the days I just stay inside read a book or crochet something. I am really enjoying playing with my flowers and little kitchen garden this year. It's the first summer in a while that I haven't had to work busily to get ready for a show, so it feels positively wonderful to sit back and just enjoy doing the things I love. Except working out...now here is the deal...honestly. I haven't worked out at all really in about 2 1/2 years; steadily that is or with any great enthusiasm. But Dave was convicted on getting us in shape, eating right the whole shebang. I do admit though I have been missing it a little, its just the getting started that's the hard part. Off he went and ordered from the infomercial the hardcore P90X workout. Holy moly and egads and little fishes hear my cynical laughter!!! This is one-tough-workout!! But we are determined and doing it. Clearly I would love to tackle the guy in charge on the tv, because he pushes so dang hard I forget he really isn't in the room with me but on the dvd. Next to my lavender photo above {which by the way I have an abundance of}; there sits the pull-up bar. Right now I have to use a chair to lift up at all; but I am making it my mission in life to pull my fat-ass up all by myself one of these days. If I make it through to where I want to be I promise I will show before/after photos. The before literally scared me silly....I had no clue I was so bad off....let me just say I have a six-pack people and it ain't in the front!!
As I sit hiding from the oh so hot temperature outside I have been practicing some calligraphy. I saw some samples of hand written fonts on Pinterest and loved them so much I completely and totally copied them for practice. I had forgotten how much I love to hand write things this way; so I am thinking of offering writing packages for doing wedding invitations and other things as well. It is probably my most favorite thing to do.
I also have been crocheting little slouche hats for no particular reason other than I think they are cute. Although impossible to wear right now I will be all ready for fall!
Let's see I think that about covers summer so far. I do have a nasty sunburn which is finally turning into a nicer tan and would love to be a sun worshipper but can't handle the heat anymore even with water near by. Only on occasion, which is probably best for my skin anyway.
