My son in law made this most wonderful wooden cake stand!!  I absolutely am in love with it.  I didn't have any cake made; but instead I put my fresh loaf of farmhouse white bread on it.  I have a glass dome that fits it so perfectly.  He is amazingly talented.  If you are interested in purchasing one; let me know.  :)

 
last night we just enjoyed a nice peaceful kinda evening.  I felt so relaxed and it felt so good. 

This morning I was randomly thinking of the weird things I like or my idiosyncrasies. 

• I have a huge thing for Russell Crowe and follow him on Twitter;  to me is the sexiest man alive.   I think he is such a gentleman and love reading what he writes, even if it is short sentences.  Do you have a hollywood crush??
• I don't know why but I have a severe issue opening up a Morton salt container.  That little metal tab makes me cringe just like fingers on a chalkboard.
• I am a fashion stalker and take pictures of random women if I think their style is cute.  I was so busted this weekend; but hey like I told Tamara, I have to take a photo so I can remember! :)

That's just three things for today, trust me there are many many more.

This past weekend I was blessed enough to be a part of Deb & Bob's Retreat Vintage Market!!  It was such a wonderful venue, perfect setting, great vendors, fantastic customers and an overall ambiance that was so serene.  I also got the pleasure of staying in Deb's house as one of her houseguests.  She is authentic this one.  Not only do her shows, showcase her talent, but her home is filled with her goodness as well.  It is talent.  I am going to just post some pics for you to look at.  If you missed this show make plans to attend her next show in September!!  You won't be disappointed.

packing up day

 
Today is packing up day ~ for the Retreat Vintage Market!!!  This is going to be a great show!!  Lots of people, great vendors and loads of fun!!  Can you believe the Barn House has a 30' x 30' space!!!  I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve, it will be fantastic I can bet on it!!  Me, I just have a little 12 x 12 space, lol, but I promise to try and make it cute!!!  I am packing up my babies in the above photo ~ sigh, if someone buys them it will be hard to let them go, but it's time.  Hope to see you there!!!!  Are you going??? 

new cups & ramblings

 
I'm bringing my new coffee cups to the Retreat Vintage Market this weekend!!!!  I took my original graphic of an oldgrain sack and had them printed on just plain 'ol white cups.  But I love white so it worked perfect. 

I have been trying feverishly to get everything done I wanted to; but have been a little slowed up by my arthritis.  Yes, I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis!!!  There are some days it really hurts to even get out of bed.  They also tested me for Lupus.  Currently it has settled in my left hand and it is completely cramped up and the meds aren't working.  My mom was given this wonderful cream and we ended up ordering some more because it really works that good.  But there are times when my body parts get so swollen nothing works very well.  Right now I am typing with my good right hand and my pinky and ring finger on my left hand.  It is sooooo annoying!!!  Does anyone know of treatments that help?  I have even tried to stay away from nightshade vegetables, but I love tomatoes and peppers, and can't seem to stay completely away from them.  Let me know if you have any natural remedies... :)

 

sketch paintings & art lesson e-course

 
I am taking along some sketch paintings with me to the Retreat Vintage Market this weekend!!!  Sketched and painted with Caran d'Arche crayon and acrylic artist ink.  They are originals, and I will probably only make them just this once.  It is really really hard for me to sketch something twice, some things are okay but usually I just like doing a one timer on them.  Not sure I am quite finished with the ball jar one, might add a few more typography things. 

Today is a busy day of sewing, painting, and various other things.  I do have dishes almost to the ceiling, so it's probably a good idea to do those; also vacuuming might be in order.  Yesterday I made little red gingham curtains for the laundry room.  I love red gingham.  Simple and kinda granny.  Have you been watching The Voice?  Just love this show, and can't wait to see tonights singing.  I really love Xenia's voice and downloaded her song Price Tag.  She is one of my favs!! 

 

Kayla and I are still busy putting together our online art e-course.  If you have art stirring in your soul and am not sure where to begin ~ this will be the perfect e-course for you.  It will be lessons in finding your hand for art, your palette, and your medium.  Kayla has learned so very much from college and is eager to teach some great lessons.  I have learned tons from her.  Be ready to sketch a nude, and learn easy ways to draw faces to incorporate in your paintings.  There are so many things on our list for our 5 week course!!  Hopefully we will be ready July 11th!!!  Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or perhaps let us know what you would love to learn from an art e-course.  tsheeley@gmail.com or Kayla kaylasheeley@gmail.com We would love to hear your thoughts!!

On the table this morning are the new greeting card designs I am working on.  I have loads of work to do for the Retreat Vintage Market this weekend!!!!  So excited to go set up, hang out with friends and traveling over the North Cross  Hwy!!  It's such a beautiful drive and I haven't been that way in a very long time.  I am stopping at Blue Star Coffee Roasters on the way. :)

Thank you everyone who gave such loving comments about loosing my Princess girl.  Each day I expect to see her little smiling face waking me up and then I remember.  She is in my heart forever.  Sadly I lost another pet this weekend; on Saturday.  My thirteen year old cat Bill.  He was the greatest character ever!!!!  I think I spoke once before about having the empty nest and when the kids leave all you have in the house are the pets they grew up with.  That is what we had except for Edgar they are all old souls.  I just wasn't expecting to loose three in three months.  A little further apart would be great God. :) 

 
Here is my William all snuggled on my lap as he usually was.  At times Bill was annoying, and I say that with love, but he was one of those cats who would get in your face, crowd your space at the most inopportune time.  But I loved him dearly. 

Today I may just take all my work outside and soak up this beautiful sunshine we are having!!  Two days of warm sun in a row, it has been a long time since we have seen that, AND it reached 80 degrees!!!!  Happy Monday!!

missing princess

 
I am missing my Princess girl this morning.  It's been almost two weeks since she passed away in my arms.  This photo of her she was about 3 years old maybe.  Kayla used to make her look pretty and then take her picture.  Her nickname was Pretty Pretty Princess.

 
My neighbor at the time had a litter of pups and he was moving so was giving away these Doberman,Border Collie, Irish Wolfhound mixed pups.  I spotted my little girl in the corner of the room and she was shaking like she was scared.  She touched my heart so I scooped her up and brought her home.  She was also the closest pup to look like her dad who I had a great fondness for. 

 
She was a good 'ol girl my Princess.  I miss her smiling face every morning - she was one of those dogs who looked at you and smiled showing her teeth.  She woke me up every morning that I was home anyway for the past fourteen years and I miss that. 

 
I will miss our playtimes and watching you catch snowballs.

Good morning world!!!

 
Sometimes the light just shines in the house where it feels so good.  The weather here has been in the mid 60's, cloudy and rainy as of lately, but I don't mind I love it.  Next weeks forecast calls for 80's and sun, which my garden will really appreciate!! :)  We planted the garden earlier and had a huge hail/rain storm pulverize it, and had to start all over again.  So hopefully I will have some crop this year.

 
Time to start re-stocking my stash of ironstone!!!  I had a lot of plates at one time, but ended up selling them all, now I have this little lone pink ironstone plate all by its lonesome.  We have been busy trying to purge the house and get rid of all unused, un-looked at for a year or more stuff!!! 

 
Once the rain stops long enough ~ we are taking this big old table outside to repaint it.  Its been through hell and back.  It is time for a little spiffying up.  Actually I contemplated stripping the paint off and going with the natural wood instead. 

Really excited about RETREAT's upcoming Summer Vintage Market!!  Come join us Saturday June 25th on Camano Island just north of Seattle!!

Sometimes I forget about my poor little blog, Facebook has taken it over I think.  This month has been the busiest I think I have had in a long time.  It kicked off with my annual visit as a vendor to the Farm Chick show!!  It is always so wonderful to see faces I recognize and to meet new people; and missed those you have met in the past that didn't make it this year. 

Then the biggest event of them all; for me anyway was my son's wedding

 
 
 
It was the most beautiful wedding held here in this gorgeous setting.  Now both my babies are married!!  That is a huge milestone as a parent. :)  Next up I hope we get some grandbabies.  Life is full of joy right now.

Now I am getting ready for a fun RETREAT!

 
I am so excited to be a part of this show, and can't wait to visit this part of the state!!  There will be over 20 vendors with Deb & Bob's special guests Barn House!!  It is always so much fun to see what those boys will do; their talent just always drops my jaw as does Deb's.  I hope I get to see some of you there!!!!  I will be selling vintage goods, some art prints, and a few towels, and this and thats!!

Now for this weekend, we are having a yard sale at my sister's house!!!  Busy busy busy!!!
