A FEW VENDORS
la' queen - cindy,..she is so gracious, kind and very much inspiring. we have been at the farm chicks show for three years and she has bought towels wholesale, and this time finally this time we actually met in person and it was such a pleasure. cindy is very talented at putting things together, her booth is a place you never want to leave. i told her i wanted it to be my home and wasn't kidding. such a blessing to meet cindy.
heather - it was wonderful to see heather again. she is such a great friend and just sparkles with goodness. i am really proud of heather and her accomplishments in life, she is inspiring to make you want to be better at what you do. she is a true professional to her craft and such a blessing to this business. i adore her. this is someone you meet who truly loves what she is doing, and the joy just shines off of her.
deb- i don't know how she pulls these things together, it's like deb magic. well with a little bob mixed it too. i didn't get a chance to talk with deb very much because of both of us tending to our booths; and let me tell you she is one busy girl at hers. you are drawn to her magnificent displays. i am not sure deb ever sleeps! her mind must just be churning 24/7. she has her own style, and not a duplicate to anyone. i like that about deb, she stays on top of it all.
adrienne~ gotta love her! she sparkles, and is one of the most happiest, lovely people i have ever met in my life. i could just hang out with her all day!! and her jewelry is one of a kind, every year i come home with something from adrienne, i can't help it, she mesmerizes me with her fresh talent. i can see her smiling now!! :)
elaine~ shhhh, she never knows i am taking her picture, don't tell her. :) i am forever sneaking up on elaine, do it at every event it seems. elaine is a person you meet who is just centered, you know what i mean? she just has it completely together and her grace just exudes through her. she has started these new art retreats that hopefully i can be a part of in the future. she had a wall of photos of these women creating and enjoying life together. i always want a little of elaine's confidence to rub off on me, really, she is just centered with life. :)
le' king of tarte. :) i was talking with cindy and she thinks maybe he likes to get his photo taken, just a little. ;) what a wonderful husband this guy is. i watched him be so respectful and loving to his wife. she is a very lucky woman, but he is a lucky guy to be with the queen! ;)
joy - this woman can light up any room - love her... {photo from isabel}
oh my goodness, it was such a pleasure to meet joy! she is so incredibly happy; she just makes you bubble with smiles when you talk to her. her laughter is contagious and i am so excited to be able to be around her again. not to mention she is one talented lady!!
two of the nicest, most kind hearted people you will ever meet. lisa & isabel. {photo from isabel} honestly, i don't know what portland has in it's water; but these oregon girls are the greatest! i adore lisa and isabel. such wonderful people, and so good to each other. i want to move to portland so i can hang out with them anytime. they love what they do; and they do it very well. my life is blessed from knowing these two women.

from Britt's booth. if you ever need some cowgirl love - please visit britt; she has the most beautiful jewels there are out there for the cowgirl look. besides that she is super sweet too!! when i went to visit her i didn't have my camera to take a new photo of her, but have this one.
and,
I thought I had your photo, but can't find it. This is a mother/daughter team with papa doing all the heavy work. What a wonderful family, these are good good people. kathy and jennifer were part of my prayer warriors when dave was sick. and they have been my farm chick neighbor since we started. they are always always there to lend a helping hand and are so very kind. not to mention they are very talented and always have something for everyone at their booth. it's a blessing to have people like jennifer and kathy in your corner. :)
FRIENDS
my guardian angel - liz...she is one very special woman, and she makes me cry. not a bad cry a good cry. :) liz and i met last year at farm chicks when she was a vendor. we have stayed in touch ever since meeting. she has given me such grace, advice and help i can't not even tell you. she really is my guardian angel. on days when i feel i may crumble at any moment she is there somehow making things better and picking me up. i don't ask for it, but i really believe God has people out there, to help you be better and to give you a boost. liz is that for me. eekk, i am going to get teary eyed again because she does that to me. she is incredible, that's all just incredible.
i was so very thrilled to meet robin - she has the most beautiful spirit and so talented this woman is. i just loved talking to her about her talents, and other things. she is by far one of my favorite photographers, as you can see from her blog postings. she captures moments that only a person with this gift can do. i tell you these portland people have stolen my heart!
my support, helper, and sister. how did i get so lucky? :) this is my sister janet, i have another sister helper rhonda, but she will go hide deep in a hole before she will let you take her picture.
leah, melaine and cindy. {photo by my sweet savannah} do blondes have more fun?
melainecame and gave me a big hug; she was definitely at the show to have a good time! along with her i got to spend some time with tara and jen. two beautiful soles, i just adore tara and i just love it when i get to see these girls in person, we talk online all the time, but it just makes it that much more special in person. i love jen's sweet hair cut, it fits her perfectly. i love talking art with her, she gets me i think. :) and it was really nice to meet tracey also. i love how people come in from all over the united states and beyond for this show!
can i just talk about leahfor a moment? okay good. there are times in your life where you meet someone who you just click with. leah was that for me. she is a breath of fresh air and was such a great pleasure to meet. my life is better because of it. she is also launching a beautiful new clothing line called Belle Blanc. it will be unveiled at the barn house boys flea in july. i am so looking forward to seeing all of it. she really will knock you out with these beautiful designs, i promise. i had noticed leah's art while reading robin's blog and just fell in love with her work her style. because of leah's unknown to her the inspiration she gave me, i started to paint a "serious" painting and worked on my horse painting, which i finally finished. it taught me that i can do not just illustrations, but fine art. illustrations are quick, faster, sometimes quirky, but paintings , fine art, art that you take more time doing, it makes you dig into your soul and find courage to do brush strokes you are unfamiliar with or techniques. it is amazing when seeing someone else's work can spark in you to be better, and inspire you to do better, that is what Leah has done for me.
and my baby girl. i love you kayla!! thank you so much for helping me with everything, you are my rock. i will miss you when you go, i know i only have a few days left with you before you leave and my stomach has a knot in it thinking about you being gone. but such is life, we must move forward. you are my crutch and i love you!
now for honesty. i didn't like anything i took to farm chicks really. after i got there i realized to myself, what are you doing? this isn't what you really love. i was trying to capture something that didn't work for me. although i went with 150 towels and came back with about 25 and took 18 pillows and came home with just a few; it was a success, but not deep in my heart what i love was completely missing. i am all about ruffles and white and romantic. that is what i love, and i tried my hardest not to accomplish that for some reason. i have brain farts occasionally that send me off to weird places. but going to this show made me realize what i love, what i want to be true to. darn it, i like a good chandelier and a white ruffle here and there, well lots actually. so the designs i took to farm chicks will no longer be in sight. i am going back to what i love. i love grain sacks, french, white, ruffles and worn out old furniture. chandelier paintings and apothecary.
i was also contemplating coming up with a new business name, something fun and not use my name anymore, only for my art, but not for merchandising. let me know what you think. :)
i am excited to say that i will be a vendor at the barn house boys flea july 31!!! i am really looking forward to it!! hope to see you there!!
