A Little Give Away..with a catch

Over a month ago I was the proud winner of an ATC (artist trading card) from Kathleen Rietz, whom is a very very talented illustrator/artist.  i won the cute little pink bug she illustrated!  It is really cute.  Anyway the name of the game was when you won, you were to keep the spirit of giving going and give away 3 items of your own.  Whether you draw, paint, collage, scrapbook, or do photography, it's a great chance to showcase some of your work on a smaller scale, and to share with all your blogger friends.  I encourage you to keep the spirit of giving going if you are one of the three winners from my little give away.  Let me explain whats up...I painted these little french poodle girls with watercolor and ink and added a touch of glitter to my little ATC's, also known as artist trading cards.  ATC's are usually 3.5" x 2.5".  If you do collage, I have made them on playing cards before, it's fun doing those.   So if you are interested please play along and honestly I would love to see what other people can do creatively with this size of work.  It's a little challenge I am throwing to you!  And sorry Kate, it took me sooo long to get me spirit of giving in order!!

Doodling Day

Oh how I wish I had time for the post I really want, but I just wanted to say a quick hello and happy monday to everyone.  I am busy with card orders, catalog mailings, and working on my illustration for a Romantic Home issue.  I want to talk about re-doing my kitchen in a Provencal style of decorating, and how I want to start selling my graphics so people can use them for their blogs, websites, etc.  But I am squeezing in this hello and hope everyone has a spectacular week!!!

Me + Rocket Man = True Love

Finally, oh finally after 34 years I have a date with the Rocket Man himself, live and in person!!!  He has eluded me for years, moments to see him, just slipped through my fingers, but not this time.  Sir Reginald will be within arms reach of me in just a few months, I am shocked stunned, and so excited!  My BFF Jenny and I used to spend hours and hours listening to every song from those '70's albums over and over.  We both knew all the words by heart.  Last weekend I went to see this movie, and loved the part where they were singing Bennie & the Jets, trying to sing the words, while I am sitting there singing all the words in my head.  Sometimes the lyrics are hard to understand on some of his and Bernie's songs like Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, the lyrics are kinda goofy. :)

Now this is how I remember him, cool huh?  After 40 minutes of grueling attempts on getting tickets, my son finally got through and captured 2 tickets for his mama!  My daughter and I will be going and I told her she will have to hold me up and keep me under control.  I do however wish he had his old voice back, but hey after these many years I will take what I can get!!   Do you have a famous celebrity you would love to see?  And how many of you have seen my Elton???

Just an Ordinary Day

Sharing a few things that are just a part of my ordinary day.  Thankful for each day that I am able to sit and paint, illustrate and create.  Thankful for a nice hot relaxing bubbly bath after a morning workout.  Thankful that I can look at my window and see piles and piles of snow---*scratch that**, not so thankful about the snow, but thankful I can tolerate the cold just a little longer.  This is just my ordinary day, :)

Another project from Winter Bella!  I am a little behind on most projects, too much work stuff going on.  But I tried to get at least one project finished today.  I liked this little project because I needed a new welcome on my door.  There are so many talented people taking part in these projects and you can look at some of their work here.   Some very cute things!

Whoa!  The Patriots and Giants are in the Superbowl!  Just watched the Giants win, finally their kicker actually got a kick in!  The two before he missed, went into overtime..poor guy had one more shot to win the game..yay, he made it!!!

Okay sorry, back to my post...I love football..

Just wanted to share my yum yums off too.  There is an antique store going out of business in our downtown area, and I couldn't resist, the yum yums!  I think I am going back this week to get a few more things if they are still there.  Everything is 60% off!!

Okay, so now I am watching Venus Williams in the Australian Open, I am a sports freak!!  Man their hot sunshine looks so nice!  Let's all go to Australia!!   

Project person

Are you a project person?  Do you have at least 6 projects looming and looking at you at the same time?  This would be me.  I am completely unorganized, and flit around from project to project, room to room, table to table, ahh sigh.  Pictured above is the beginnings of my little tea towel gift for my daughter, whom keeps asking me when I am going to finish her towels.  I think Valentines day would be a good time to spring those on her.  I also have the Winter Bella projects around here too.  I will share some I have done with you soon I hope.  I am a crafter, I love to craft, it keeps me a bit sane I think.  After doing some much needed greeting card work today I am going to sit down and get a few of these projects completed.  It's beautiful outside today, but super chilly, hazy, sunny and a bit foggy.  From where I am perched I see many things including the brand spankin new STARBUCKS our little town is finally getting!!  Can't wait!  I would love to have a creamy, yummy caramel macchiato today!   

 

New Art

Just wanted to share one of the new series of art I am working on.  I love drawing, painting flowers, or plant life type things.  I added their name along with their latin name in these pieces.  Also along with it are little verses from the Bible.  You can find the most inspirational sayings there more than any place there is.

Give-Away!!

I wanted to have a give away for my appreciation for all of the kindness out there in blogland.  Since I am a stationery, paper person, I thought these calendars would be a sweet little gift for you.  They are 11" x 17" on cardstock type white paper.  You can attach a magnet strip on the back if you wanted to hang on your frig, or maybe add some ribbon to it and make a hanger for it, skys the limit. :)  I don't know how many I will give away yet, my little blog doesn't generate mass amounts of commenters, so we will just take it one day at a time.  I will keep this up until next Tuesday or Wednesday , okay, sound good?  In all honesty, thanks to all of you for your support, encouragement and kindness!!

Sorry I can't get a good photo of the calendar, it's just so dark outside, I can't wait to see sunshine!!  I will try again tomorrow.

New Little Art Prints

I am starting a new series of prints that depict what most little ones what to be when they grow up.  This particular one is from a photo I had taken of my now 21 year old when he was about 6 years old.  He loved Batman and wanted to wear the cape, hat, and the accessories 24/7.  I think these will turn out to be cute little prints and it gives me such comfort to capture these little precious memories.  This one is posted at my art Etsy shop.  If you by chance have a custom request just throw me an email.  I have plans to do little illo's of doctors, spider-man, artist, and much more.  :)
