Wishing each of you a peaceful, happy Holiday season. I am taking a blogging break until Jan. 15. , Jan. 1st ! I have closed the Etsy shops until then too. I want to take this time to enjoy being with my kids and family, and not spend so much time on the computer. I think TV needs a bit of a break too. :)
Enjoy and Rejoice the Season!
Peace to you all!

No bell, balls or whistles on the tree this year. I am a mom who is trying to cope with the empty nest syndrome, and nothing was more important to me than decorating with all of those special handmade ornaments from two of the best kids in the world. I have tried to keep most of them safe, but over the years some of them just didn't quite make it. Sorry Matt, your gingerbread man is only half a man now, and I know there are some missing, but not sure where they are. This year the tree is just full of memories from Camp Fire projects, church youth group projects, home projects with mom and school ornament projects. I love every one of them! ***Sigh*** how much I miss those days, but they will never fade, as each ornament is pulled out I go back and smile all over again. Hoping the kids will like it too. One is home from college, the other one comes home this weekend! Now it will be time to do some serious baking.
Remind me to say "stop" before I snap for the picture while sitting in the back seat trying to get the perfect shot. Yeah, ain't gonna happen. My sisters and I love to go out and stalk neighborhoods looking at outdoor displays of Christmas lights. We went out the other night and honestly couldn't find very many. Maybe it was still too early in the season, maybe the home owners just didn't turn them on yet?, maybe our town is too small and the selection of houses just isn't there. I'm going to stick with the latter. We don't have a lot to choose from as far as elaborate neighborhoods, there isn't any. It's hit and miss around here for the pretty decorated house. Anyway we saw a few, not much, but we will attempt again. Do you have favorite homes you go look at each year?
I love the goosey and her baby. Sorry it is so hard to see, for sure need to practice nighttime picture taking.
Just a little fun annual Christmas tradition thing we do, better hunting next time out!
I have a new print for sale at my Etsy shop. Some of you may ask, what is her fascination with nuns, why paint them? I think the answer to that question began when I was little and my mom would read to me over and over the books about Madeline. They were my favorite books growing up and this year for my birthday my mom found these little books and gave them to me for a present. I love them! They are displayed proudly on my bookshelf. Oh how much I would love to re-illustrate those books. Of course they are perfect just the way they are.
Just wanted to give you a sneak peek at my upcoming give-away! It's paper (of course), and could come in handy for you for the new up and coming year! Should have it up and posted soon! I would like to give-away possibly 8, depending on how many people play, so tell your friends!
Also, just wanted to say sorry for being a pretty bad blogger as of late. I haven't been able to visit and leave comments or return emails very promptly, but I will make a better effort into keeping up with everyone. The little greeting card business has kept me busy! That's a good thing, not complaining one bit, I just miss blogging sometimes. Okay, off to work, have a great day! Hope your holiday activities are going well too!

Don't sweat the "little things", just dig in and do your best!

I am just getting ready to go sit in my chair and finish my illustration, but wanted to share with you the most blissful moments.
We woke up this morning to this most beautiful pinkish/reddish colored sky, mixed in with a little purple, and yellow. God makes His own beauty doesn't he? Just like yesterday while we were driving a huge bald eagle soared above us and with us, gliding right atop the car, I looked up and awed over his wingspan and the colors of him, the white tips of the feathers and his beautiful bald white head. It was the first time I had ever been directly under a bald eagle at such close quarters. Magnificent feeling it was. All of these wonders you take the time to really look at leaves you with the most blissful feeling. It was one of those kind of weekends. Peaceful and quiet.
Paper Snowflakes! These were so much fun to make and very simple easy instructions. You print them out follow the dotted lines for folding and snip-snip you have great snowflakes. After googling "paper snowflake instructions I found this great place! If you find yourself wanting to make snowflakes I highly recommend Dave's Paper Snowflake Patterns, and oh I can't wait to make the hearts!
I wanted to share a piece of my woodland life with you. One could say I have a little pine cone orchard. They are everywhere. Pine cones are a little fun to play with. I love their rustic look, and they are even pretty decorated with loads of glitter. And you can fill a bag of them throw some essential oil shake it about and presto you have your own scented pine cones! If you happen to live where you have not a one pine cone, please let me know, I would be happy to send you a few for your pleasure.
And...lastly...Michelle from Faerie Dust Dreams gave me a tag to list 5 random things about myself and then pass it on to 7 more peeps. I will just say if you read this and want to play, then tag you're it!
1. Once I tried to cut off my widows peak so I could part my hair straight down the middle just like Marsha Brady!
2. I am a huge football fan. Love Sunday football, Monday night football and Thursday night football.
3. I love peanut butter & pickle sandwiches.
4. My family gave me the nickname TC, my friends call me Stella.
5. I am shy.
Your turn.
Welcome to Miss Janet's house (my sister)! I hope you enjoyed her little vignettes of her little vintage pretties. This area of her home is pretty in pink! She was home from work today because while cleaning her attic a 15 lb. weight decided to smash down on her foot **ouch**! Soo no work for her! We sat on her couches this morning, ate cookies and had coffee, and enjoyed looking at all her Christmas cheer! Hope that foot feels better soon!
